Guys

I am fencing in a few acres for some cattle and am planning on 47" field fence topped with 2 strands of barbed wire. I can get either Red Brand 1047-6-12 1/2 with a hinge knot (vertical wires are individual), or Sierra brand 1047-6-13 with a square knot (vertical wires are 1 piece). Also the red brand has 10 ga top/bottom wires with 12 1/2 ga filler wires while the Sierra has 10 1/2 ga top/bottom wires with 13 ga filler wires. Having only run straight barb wire fencing in the past, I am unsure as to what are the advantages of the 2 knot styles and the minor differences in wire ga. Prices are comparable. What would you guys recommend

Thanks
Philip

is your land level? the hinged verticals are meant to follow the contour of the land. i just installed some unhinged on sloping land and it went up just fine. the gauge difference is not significant.

Yes, the land is fairly flat with only a few slow gradual dips here and there
