Yep. Quite a few States do not require trailer license plates. Seems weird for us that live in States that require them.

Here's another trailer that I came across in the local Lowe's parking lot a couple days ago and I snapped a quick pic of it. This one is missing both fenders, NO taillights whatsoever, missing one board on the dovetail, and missing both fold-up ramps. I guess missing the ramps is not a problem as long as one doesn't haul wheeled or tracked vehicles on it lol.

Maybe he's pulling what he can afford? Doesn't look like it was built with fenders. I can't remember the last time I used ramps. Everything I haul is wheeled.

The law here requires either fenders or mud flaps.

I thought all states required fenders or flaps, something to semi-block flying debris from the tires. Perhaps not.
For sure tail lights in every state is a requirement.

I'm actually not sure what Missouri law says. Around here it's more likely to see farm trailers without fenders than with. The law is very tolerant of AG equipment.

One may get by without fenders but I think if you slung some debris up and caused damage to a following vehicle, you would have to pay. If all the fenders were on, you likely would not be liable.

Again, I'm not sure what Missouri law says about lights. But I know it is in regards to whether the tow vehicle's lights can be seen and how far behind those lights the trailer extends. Again, I can't remember the last time I saw a "Hay Trailer" around here with fenders or lights. And they are carrying loads so wide you can't see the tow vehicle at all.

Doesn't make it legal. Just reflects an area's priorities in regards to trailers. For the trailer pics posted in this thread they evidently meet the local law's tolerance levels.

This one I do know. In Missouri if you sling debris into any vehicle traveling the hiways with you, you are liable and will pay for the damages if the offended vehicle owner can catch up to you. This is regardless of your equipment condition.
