Would a 12' trailer haul a Bobcat CT2035/Kioti CK3510 with loader?

Yeah, so I loaded up the tractor. Unless I was going a short distance, on secondary roads, at a low speed, I would not be comfortable with this. It was awkward to balance, etc. I am going to sell the trailer. I got it at sweethart deal, put a new deck and wiring on it. I'll make a bit of cash, and get a 14' or 16' trailer.

I measured my CK3510 with bucket or grapple and Quick Hitch at 14.5'. Add on a 72" brush hog @ 8' long, and I'm looking at a 22' trailer just to prevent overhang. With loaded tires, that setup also weighs over 5000lbs, so would need a greater than 7500lb trailer.

Larger trailers are hard to find right now. Seems all the available trailers are 16'-20' 7500lb car haulers.

I went from a 12' to a 14' and really regret NOT getting a 16'.

Ok, so looking at a new trailer now....

Looking at 2 aluminum trailer. They have a 16' with a 2.5' beaver tail for the same price as a 16' "landscape" trailer. The are pretty much identical as far as frame and deck goes. 80" wide. Price is pretty much the same.

The beaver tail has hidden ramps, though not slide out, and Jack stands at tail.

Landscape has 13" siding... not sure if that is a good thing or not, and a fold up mesh ramp.

Main use for the trailer would be hauling my side by side. But occasionally hauling lumber, doing dump runs etc. I would also like the option to haul my tractor with loader from time to time (possibly with snowblower on). Though I wonder if that mesh ramp could handle tractor at 3700lbs...

It seems like the landscape trailer would be more useful, and with the car hauler I have an extra 2.5' to deal in tight places.

Thoughts ?

Are you saying the Aluminum trailer is just the 2 rails (open center)? If so, its probably a pass.. But, if its a normal flat deck then getting the Aluminum one becomes a no-brainer. 18.5' plus aluminum for same price as a normal 16' landscape trailer? Aluminum all the way.

Where are you finding this deal?

I am selling the 12' steel. Looking at 2
Buyin an aluminum trailer. The dealer has the 16+2.5 aluminum car hauler and a 16, landscape for the same price. Both are aluminum. Nearly the same trailer. Neither are open center. Both have a 16'x80" solid wood deck. They weigh 1550lbs, both have brakes dual 3500lb axles, etc. I think the manufacturer probably starts them off on the same assembly line.

I see.. I'd still get the car hauler. Dove tails are easier to load than non-dove tailed ones, given the same trailer height, and, more importantly, having no rails means you can load the trailer from the sides. The railings on landscape trailers really get in the way more than they help. Think getting bundles of wood loaded via forklift, or pallets.. Plus the extra 2.5' and no rear ramp will help in adjusting the load distribution without having to worry as much about any rear implement overhang. With a fold up ramp on the rear, you can't have any overhang at all.

A 14' dual axle/brakes works for me. Not how I would like but I have done a few things to help overcome its shortness. Fabricated a bracket to secure the landscape rake for travel. Replaced the jack handle with a nut assembly that I can run up and down with drill as well as the rear jack stands. Tailgate is too short so I added 2' ramps so now the tiller doesnt drag when loading

Quick question for you alls....my owner's manual suggests backing onto trailers.

My 24.5- horser has beet juice in the rears, a fel, and maybe soon, a small skidding winch out back. Which way is best in such a setup,? Thanks ahead.

You need 10-15% of the trailer & load weight sitting on the tongue. You can calculate it in theory, but it's better to measure it.

The longer the trailer the easier it is to balance. On a short trailer many cases there won't be enough room to balance the load properly loading forward or backwards. A long trailer gives you room to load in either direction or scoot things forward or backwards to hit the magicbalance.

Google around & there ways to use a bathroom scale & a lever to weigh things heavier than the scale is capable of.
