fun read, I remember reading about them back then, and it was fun watching the huge tractors evolve back then.

one hardly sees the large tractors now, (the frame size), few articulated tractors now most are front wheel assist,
there are a number of the tracked units around,

We still see quite a few of the articulated steiger tractors around here but those you posted are huge!

Of those two tractors photographed, looking at the the one in the front was a Front wheel assist. I believe that drive for the front axle was belt driven. It certainly would be nice to get more information on those units.

The fuel truck usually drives along beside and stays connected pumping.

They shouldn't burn more fuel per acre than any other tractor.
