Hi,
Installing an older Woods rear finish mower on my new Kubota.
Mower has chains which control the cut height at the front. They are to be attached to some plates that fasten to the lower pin for the upper three-point hitch arm, but the guard over the PTO is in the way.

Has anyone dealt with this? Why wouldn't the three point hitch control the height?

Thanks in advance,
TomS

That 3pt check chain is to limit the amount you can drop the attachment and to remove all the weight from the hydraulic lift. Was common on a lot of older equipment. I have a AC sickle mower with that.
You can use the 3pt control to set the lowest point you want to put the attachment but if you do not get it just right or if it drifts down you may start scalping and not realize it.
If you have a top link with notches along the top edge you can run a chain from the lower pins over the top of the upper link, this should clear the pto drive line. KennyV.
