To Welch Queenland LLC for 7.1 million. Another fine company headed across the open sea. At least we still can deliver pizzas.

Where did you find this? I don't live too far from their headquarters. If I knew they were for sale that cheap I may have got in on the bidding.

I have a GB65 box blade on order thru my dealer right now. Kind of have a feeling I should cancel it (if it's not too late) and look for one made in the good old US of A and a company that is owned here as well.

I did a search on the Wall Street Journal and Proquest and I could not find a thing about this sale. Can you reference your source. I have access to a college business server and did not find a thing about this sale or pending sale.

After some searching, I can't find any info on this. If true, I would have bought Woods for 7.1 million! Dern, all the bargains are taken!

But seriously, I doubt it was the woods equipment that makes attachments, loaders, backhoes, UTV's and more. They would sell for 7.1 Billion.

Agreed!

The Woods Equipment we know probably has $7.1 million just in raw steel on the floor of their factory.

Heck, for 7.1 million the TBN'ers could have formed a corporation and bought it, eveyone throw $1k at it, and we get all the attachments we would ever need.... Just think of all the Demo units we would create! :)

Woods recently ( within the last 2 years ) opened a huge mfg. plant in ( Kronenwetter Township ) Wausau, Wi. If you go to Wausau Daily Herald and click on lifestyles you will see a section called real estate transactions. Look half way down the list and you will see the sale as recorded in our countys financial transactions.
I e mail my friend and told him I thought the price was extremly low for this corporation. I don't know why they built a plant in northern Wisconsin when their headquarters is farther south. I know... they like to haul materials both ways. Didn't make any sense to me.
If the information is recorded in the financial page I have to believe it is sold, sold, sold !

I really hope I'm wrong and it is mis information.

The real estate transactions have been updated as of today. It could be they just sold the plant facility and retained the production capabilities. I searched the web and couldn't find mention of it either.
Like I said... I hope I'm wrong ( and the price is way too cheap )
Even if they sold the building alot of local jobs will go up in smoke. Why would an overseas company buy a manufacturing facility here. I would assume to get the manufacturing rights and sell the building on a secondary market. Knowing the newspaper, I should have had a secondary source.

Cessna's first new design small aircraft will be built in China - shouldn't be too long before you're grounded.
