Been doing some woodsplitting. Just about done with the first load, one to go.
Should be enough for 3winters, maybe more. I might have to be out of state for a while so wanted to be sure to have enough while I am away.

Brumfield - nice hoist you have there. Bet that comes in handy splitting some of those large slices.

Is your winch electric, or hydraulic, or manual?

mcfly - you can get those tongs at northern tool - see below. I am sure you can get them elsewhere. Looks like he used some chain to attach them to the bucket.

I got them at Northern Tool. I see they have them on sale now. I'm going to have to find my receipt and get a refund for the difference.

Yes I made some brackets and welded them to my bucket for the hooks to connect to.

Those aren't old power poles in your wood pile, are they? Burning creosote treated lumber is a sure way to start a flue fire.

Cool. Those rotten centered logs are often lumber mill rejects but some are mysteriously round. The poles aren't creosoted anymore but may have some nasty pressure treatment so I wouldn't burn them in my stove.

I am about to get into my last 10 cords here soon. My goal is two years' supply so that I can be hurt or sick and not run out.
