I about forget to do this every year. I have a 26 gallon sprayer and if it freezes up it can crack the pump. I pumped some rv antifreeze in it today.

Definitely a good reminder. I need to pick up some RV antifreeze since I'm out.

After hitting 20’s a couple times I figured I better not push my luck any further. 200 gallon unit here. Use rv antifreeze as well.

I've never done this, maybe I should, but I do go to extreme lengths to ensure my boom sprayer is totally drained after use. Even installed a few extra drain cocks, using fuel shutoff valves on tees in each line, to be sure each line was as dry as possible.

RV antifreeze not only gets real funky over time, but it seems to do some nasty things to some types of rubber. It did a number on the wire harness jacket and seals, when I used it to backfill leaky conduit on pool lights, once in the past.

Interesting I've winterized our sprayers for some time with the EV anti-freeze. It was much easier then draining and blowing everything out air the air hose. Then missing some and finding broken fittings or nozzles when getting ready to spray.

It's likely the rubber bits in a sprayer are made out materials more solvent resistant than the gasketing on swimming pool lights, which might explain why I had trouble with the stuff, but you guys haven't.

It might be worth a test session. Grab a couple pieces of pool light gasket and a couple gaskets, drop them into the RV antifreeze and windshield washer fluid and see how they fair.

This time of year I have to drain my drill tank and antifreeze the drill daily. It’s kinda annoying.
