The cashier at the grocery store tells me that January and February are going to be milder than usual. I figure that is at least as good as the almanac so I am going to compile a to do list. I need to take the finish mower off and move the chipper and the bush hog to the front of the barn. I'm thinking about cleaning up branch piles. I'd like to find the corner marker at the far back of the farm. There are some logs to move around. Feel free to chime in. Maybe your lists will remind me of other stuff I need to do too.

I have to fly back to Virginia from the Philippines on 8 Feburary 2011 and deal with winter, trade in shorts, tee shirt and flip flops for long johns, jeans and sheep skin lined slippers. Dang, I'll even need to turn the heat back up.

Your tasks seem enjoyable, at least to me. But for those of us who don't wait to the last minute, it's time to start collecting/compiling the info we need to file our income taxes. UGH!!:(

FILE TAXES

Thanks a lot Steve:confused2:

Fortunately my good wife is an accountant. Now I am going back to thinking about renting a pole saw and trimming back the trees along the farm lane.

Someone mentioned the same prediction to me recently. They claimed December would be colder than average also (which it has been). Is this some sort of internet prediction? I had assumed it was from the almanac.

In Ohio January and February are the hard winter months. These are the months of the cold and heavy snow. December is rarely a hard winter month.

Go someplace warm

I pretty much hibernate through January and February. This may sound a little demented but if the temperature gets above 40 and I can get out and work at the farm. I really enjoy that.
