just took a drive out to our bulk fuel tank at our equipment yard. not a place I normally visit ( for the GC i work for ).. I mostly am a office to jobsite kinda guy.. etc.

in any event.. I noticed we have a row of derelict brush hogs along the fence in states of disrepair.. damaged aframes.. disassembled frames.. blown out decks.. tail wheel issues.. frame issues.

I got to talk to the boss and see if any of them are ready to be scrapped.. looks like a few would be nice projects to fix up on the cheap and have some economical rough service mowers.. :)

I love finding treasures like that. Is there a possibility of getting a few and piecing together the good parts to make a good one?

It sounds like a good idea. You will never know unless you ask. Go for it and keep us informed regarding the results.

Sure would like to find a gear box for an old Covington cutter myself, not sure how much longer my welds are going to hold up on the one I blew up last summer when I hit that space saver spare someone discarded in my field.

Heck yes..!! Especially if most are the same brand and model. Mix & match... Someone always looking for a "starter" model, until they can afford something nicer. Or one for a beater model for yourself, and sell the rest.

I've got a couple out back myself I need to get that done to, once I get settled into the home place.
