They are predicting a snowy one for us in the Buffalo NY region. Other than wood, coal, oil, what do you all stock up on, or do to get ready for the hardships of winter?

How are you going to prevent anti skid from freezing? Most of this has already been posted but here's the condensed version:
1 - Retired the coal stove and replaced the aging oil furnace.
2 - Installed a whole house 11K Diesel generator.

3 - topped off the 1000 gal fuel oil tank for heat & to fuel generator & tractors.
4 - replaced the 25 year old ductless A/C with new heat pump ductless heat & A/C units for backup heating.
5 - Had 23 tons of anti skid delivered to replace the coal ash I used to spread on the road.
6 - bought a self loading 3pt spreader to spread it.

7 - Currently building a storage "bin" for the anti skid to make it easier to load the spreader.

It's been a busy end of summer.
A tarp over the concrete bin I'm building should keep it mostly dry. I can always break it up with the BH if necessary. How are you going to prevent anti skid from freezing?
waffle house is always critical here (hurricane country)Empty your local grocery store of bread and milk.
Then continue to monitor the 'open' status of a nearby "waffle house".
Good luck.
It's an HLA Snow Scattershot@bdhsfz6 That's an amazing loader spreader that you have. Where did you find it and what is in your "anti-skid" material?
All the best, Peter
