winter MMM storage

last weekend was the last use of the deck before i took it off (for the first time) and put it up for the winter.

a few pics (cause everyeone likes looking at pics)

doesnt look like it was ever taken off and cleaned under the belt sheilds. the DIRT was thick.

picked up some color match spay paint for touch up.

stored for the winter.... shoe horned it under the popup which got moved inside for winter.

and the home inside the barn. not so much warmer than outside (as the barn has no heat still) but at least its not in the wind which hear in IL is normal. (nice in the summer, but boy its cold when its 40deg out)

Ok, why did you store it without putting the guards back in place? Looks like one laying by mower in one of the pics. Nice looking unit by the way. I have a 3ph finishing mower that looks similar to that. Have you had any bearing trouble yet? Just curious.

the gaurds needed "extra" attention (more time that was allowed when i was putting the deck away) when it comes to sanding prep and paint and were kept off in order to deal with them when i had more time... (they are currently sitting ontop of it waiting for a rainy day)


btw did i mention the thing weights a METRIC BUTT LOAD! holy cow the thing is beafy...

If you have any paint left, that brush cutter in the last pic looks kind of neglected. That sure helps equipment out when you clean it up. The deck on ours rusted out in places where grass had accumulated just like yours showed. I think mine is a Long finishing mower, bought new in 1983.
