A well to do friend invests in Deeds of Trust...

Great returns and even in foreclosure 2008-12

Over 30 years he took over one property and still owns the warehouse as NNN rental...

Well, the only way to recover from rampant inflation is to reduce the money supply. That usually comes by increasing interest rates. The reason many not us remember higher bearings rates is because we were trying to recover from the abject failure of Keynesian economics in the 70s.

How lately?
He said "today" which is now yesterday, August 18. Market performance this week has been attributed to Federal Reserve meeting speculation followed by reactions to the released meeting minutes. Today's futures look to continue the trend.

He said lately, which implies a trend.
He also referenced yesterday. Sorry, I’m not gonna argue. You asked, I answered. You don’t have to agree. One week US market trends are down. Dow and S&P look similar.

I'm not arguing. He said the stock market was struggling lately and went down today(yesterday). To me, that implies it was struggling for a period of time longer than yesterday. I was wondering how long it's been struggling, because I haven't seen it struggling. The stock market is a long-term haul for us. In the big picture, it's fine so far as far as we've seen.

I remember back in early 2000 when I worked as a stock"broker" for Edward Jones I would present prospective customers with a 30 yr AAA rate insured 6% corporate bonds and would get laughed at because they were making better returns by throwing darts at a stock page. Within a few months they were wishing they had the 6%. :ROFLMAO:

Ever since Fed minutes implied bond purchases were ending.

Fed minutes released a week or so ago.

As mentioned, end of bond purchases mean higher rates which is bad for equities.
