Gents,
Let's get real for a moment....
how come too many thread ends up as 'mine is better than yours' or ' you are full of ? How many of you have actually stepped back a few days later and re-read some of these silly threads?
I joined this group so that I could learn something new. I have more interests than I can possible ever pursue. One of my many interests is tractors so I bought a little bitty 'Bota BX 2200 to play with. I'm not a genius in agriculture/tractors, and am the first to admit it. I have MANY interests.....and I ain't smart in any single category. I just love to learn form those who have wisdom....not those who love to blow smoke.

Unfortunately, seems like everytime I log into this forum to learn a little more about this 'hobby', more often than not all I get is a bunch of overblown testosterone comments from folks who are attempting to prove how smart they are (clue: 99% of the time this reveals your real ignorance). Why don't we all learn from the ultimate gentleman BIRD who never gives his opinion with first stating " this is only my opinion". There are several more folks on this form who are humble like BIRD. Unfortunately, there are a select few folks who all-too-frequently participate in this forum who feel that they must prove their manhood by anonymously blasting other folks opinions.
Geeeez, most of you are well into mature adulthood by the calendar, but your blasts are less mature than those of my 9 yr old son!
Why can't this forum get back to sharing info and opinions in a gentlemanly manner? This is a new year... why not make a resolution to be polite and humble on this site? I WANT to learn more from the many wise folks out there....but I am having a difficult time coming back again and again to the same folks who insist on arguing about things they really knoiw nothing about.
Question: Would you really talk like this face-to-face? Think about it. This is a great forum for all of us to learn. Let's start acting our age.
Pleeeze?

Comments? I participate in several froums, and this is by far the best. I see very little of what you mention. And what I do see, I try not to get my panties in a bunch. So, I guess I disagree. But, I'll try not to be too macho about it... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It's OK to be itty bitty...

While much of what you say is true to some extent, I have found this site to be one of the most civil, friendly, clean and informative sites ever. Most of the "mine is better than yours" is good natured. Usually, the "you are full of ?" stuff is deleted pretty quick. The moderators do an outstanding job of...moderating.

Considering the amount of diesel and testosterone flowing into this website, I find it to be suprisingly well mannered...I mean...it's not like we're discussing basketweaving /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Oh yeah...Mine is better than yours !!! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Having some information or sharing information is fun, there is some good natured ribbing for sure. I'm not sure one needs to be humble inorder to have a good exchange of ideas, or convey information in a civil manner.

oh and rdam, if I told you once I've told you a million time, no mines better! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Somthin specific got your knickers in a twist?
"Everytime" is a powerful word... we must not be reading the same threads...There's not a day goes by I don't learn at least a little somthing here. If I sense a negative pattern in a poster's demeaner, I don't pay attention to those anymore... Just my random thoughts...

Don.... I agree that this is a very good forum.
Maybe MY panties are in a wedgie?
I just get frustrated when I'm trying to follow a thread to learn something and I have to weed thru a couple of pages of juvenile crap to to get to anything educational.
Or....maybe I've had too many gin-and-tonics tonight and I'm full of BS. Probably.
Hey.... I'll be down your way in a few weeks. The boss has a huge Disney World visit planned for out family of 4. All the tickets from the Travel Agency came in today. 9 days in Orlando....the boss even scheduled a REAL limosine to pick us up at the airport....will be cool to see a guy in a black suit holding up the sign for our family when we get off the plane in Orlando....the kids are excited (I'll tell them later that we're actually poor Louisiana coon-asses and they shouldn't ever expect to do that again).
I told the boss: "don't tell me what this costs. If I have to do this trip, then do it right and don't tell me any $$ numbers".

sounds like you and the family will be having a great time. I hope you do.We take the magic away from kids way to fast. It is a ball to watch them have a great time.

Could be fun for mom and dad as well! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Good luck

Higgy,
Yep, I'm sure we'll have a blast. The boss came home today with several different alkeehols in plastic bottles that can safely make the trip to Fl....just in case this country redneck can't stand all those people (I tend toward being away from large crowds... U can take the kid outta the country but...).

I was lobbying to go to the desert southwest for vacation...like to a dude ranch...but the boss said '"all good Americans have to spend a fortune at Disney World"...so that's where we're going this year.

Maybe I overreacted in this post. Ya'll are a great bunch of guys (and gals). Was just attempting to raise the bar a little higher.

And... the 'every post' was not at all accurate. More like...'most of the posts I've been interested in lately...'

Have a great weekend!

Sounds like a chemical imbalance problem to me.... but what do I know about chemicals. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif.... Life is too short. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif..

Junkman....chemical imbalance is the correct answer.

I sometimes live in an idealistic world of my own making.
Through all the jibberish, was just trying to make a point that this premier site could be even better if we could keep the insulting comments under control.
