Here is one of my piles, the rocks are much bigger than they look.

All of them pulled by my little backhoe, the excavator in the back is soon to rip up that hill but I will save that story for another thread.

Wow  I think both of your piles of rocks trump mine. How funny is it that there are all these TBN'ers taking pictures of rock piles! Takes a special kind to flourish here doesn't it. :) I have no idea what kind of rocks I was digging up there, but they are all flat (great to build with) and not that dense. Several of them broke in half just tossing them in the FEL. There was only one heavy enough that I couldn't pick it up easily. I need to get a picture of a clean broken edge, very pretty - light grey sparkly. (I'm not a rock hound at all so I have no idea what it is.)

Any particular brands to avoid?

I think it all depends on your use. For light duty stuff the ones at TSC would probably be just fine, but if you plan to use it in dozer mode or have a big tractor or have hard rough ground with lots of rocks/roots you might want to consider a stronger one. The heavy duty one's made by Woods and Bush Hog both seem adequate but expensive. I found a great deal on mine, very beefy, made by Richie Equipment .

Here's some info on BB's:
Size Matters
How to break one
Usefulness

And of course, The Master, 3RRL <- This is why I own one.

Those rocks appear to be sandstone. The only way to find them in the yard's around here is to purchase them at one of the local rock shoppes. :(

A box blade came with my tractor (CK30). However, I'm still working toward the mounting device :D 'if-ever' a backhoe arrives (still TBD). Hmmmmmmm....only two more tractor payments to go. :) Guess I should start working on the better half.

The box blade was the first new attachment I bought for the tractor, and it works really well. I am interested in more details about the hydraulic upper link.

Average costs and that sort of thing.

My dealer told me the hydraulic top link is about $400 installed. Apparently they order them from one company and they aren't short enough for the CK20 so they have to cut them and reassemble them. I am sure I can find one online that fits without modification.

Since I have the rear remotes for the backhoe, I am told I can hook the top link to those two QD's and use my flow control lever (A-N-B) to control it. I think it would be very handy, especially with the snowblower.

I think one would fit my DK45S without mods, and I have dual rear remotes anyway, so I guess I could get a hydraulic top link AND a hydraulic tilt link and run them both if I installed a valve for the tilt. Is that how most are doing it?

Do you have mid mounts for your FEL AND 2 rear remotes? I only have the 2 rears, of which on set is running my FEL. It would be sweet to have both rear remotes available like that. When I first saw one made that way (a bb with tilt and tip) I didn't think I'd want that, but after using one for a while, man I'd love to have that capability, but I'd probably have to do some mods to the hydraulics and I'm most certainly not qualified to do that.

My FEL runs off mid-mount hydraulic connection, not from the rear. When not using a rear mounted hydraulically actuated device, so far only the backhoe, the rear flow selection lever in in neutral.

You can see the connections in this photo:

I'm certainly not the hydralics expert here  , but I think you will have to simply plug the side link hoses in just like the top link hoses were plugged in. I have a kioti with dual rear remotes and I have the toplink installed. The dealer (Wallace) said if I wanted the sidelink it would be the same install.

I see, I would have thought you needed some sort of control valve for the tilt cylinder, but not for just the hydraulic top link. You can adjust the top link with the flow direction lever if that's all you have, if I understand correctly.
