Why buy China tools when you can buy knipex

I have to say that the "pliers" drawer on my toolbox is rarely opened and when it is, 90% of the time it is for a needle nose only. Only 2 things come to mind for a water pump (slip joint) pliers and that is for cracking rubber hoses loose and those constant tension hose clamps. Just not a "pliers" user. Now a VISE-GRIP !!! Completely different animal and one of my favorite go-to's. But it has to be a Vise-Grip brand and the older, the better.

I bought Knipex external snap ring pliers after the junky Hazard Fraud all in one kit wouldn't do the job. They are nicely made and work so much better.

i have 3 knipex, they cost over 50 each, and no i don't really think they are worth it, i agree they take a bit of time to adjust and i have the quick adjust model, and on the adjustable wrench you have to use hand pressure to keep them closed while also turning, this is sometimes a nightmare. the smaller head is nice, but they are most certainly not my go to.

What does everyone think of Channel Lock? I have some good tools from them, too. Made in Meadville PA, USA :)

The new ones are junk and far inferior to Knipex.

I think a lot of people buy the top tools that come up on on line sites like Azn. If you don't look for a specific brand/tool all kinds of funky names cheapo brands come up. I still have some old channel locks and some newer ones. When I go for electrical tools, I always go with the higher end tools if I can afford it. Some are over 30 years old and work as good as when I got them. My Klein diagonal cutter (4") finally broke after 15 years, was really sad, so bought another pair. I can see a difference old/new, but still look at least similar. Some tools look nothing like their older counterparts, Channel Lock is one of them, but still pretty high quality.

I for one like tools that work, but I must admit, I'm not sure I have anything made my kimplex. Whia, along with Crescent and Channel Lock I do have. China makes some good and poor tools. I stay far away from H freight junk.

I'm a (recent) huge fan of Knipex but, due to price here in Aus, I've restricted purchasing to my birthday... a friend wanted to give me a 'standard' yearly BD present (I buy her pyjamas every year :)) so I suggested a gift card from a popular tool franchise [Total Tool]. Done =A$120.

I sent her a picture of the TWO Knipex tools that I bought (I had to add a few $s too) and she was shocked that that's all that I got. Told her that quality ain't cheap!

I hope very few of us will buy anything from China after what they unleashed on the world.

A good quality tool is a pleasto use.
