Sounds like the dealer in Maine should spread nationwide with the parts counter handling all. That would at least make it simple.

At least for me the above statement is False...The Parts counter handles any "non equipment" purchase...in other words anything from a JD Gas Grill to a 3rd SCV Kit is handled thru the parts counter. And it really works slick that way.
Face it, from a salesman's point of view, who they gonna service better? A customer who wants to buy an entire machine/package or someone just wanting to buy an Aux Light kit?

I will also add that prior to the dealership changing hands this spring, accessories were handled by the sales dept and it was quite cumbersome....

This is one of those cases where Momma Deere should send out survey's and ask customers about the purchasing of their 3rd SCV Kit or their JD Toolbox... I've gotten survey's on Parts transactions and sales (tractor) transactions but never anything about the Whole Goods.

I just got a quote for a third SCV kit from www.KeepingItGreen.com and the price with shipping is $30 lower than what my dealer where I bought my tractor quoted me for the kit plus tax.

I will probably place the order with them on Monday.

KeepingItGreen is part of the Schwiessguth Brothers dealerships in Missouri, outside of St. Louis.

My dealer also has the sales guys do kits instead of the parts guys. It does have one advantage in that my sales guy will research compatibility for me. But, like was said, it does cut down on impulse buying

It is a bit arbitrary as to what Deere considers a part vs a kit. Doesn't always make sense to me.

I don't buy many parts, usually only when something breaks that I can't fix, and I have a dealership right here in town. I do occasionally buy from them, but don't recommend them as a rule. I have gone out of my way(55miles) to shop at the GreenSouth dealership that is near me and is part of the chain that Gamble77 is apparently part of. I would recommend them, as I have had good service when dealing with them.

I just received my 3rd SCV kit from Schweissguth Brothers/Keeping it Green, and I am happy with the service and price I received on the kit.

Mike in parts and Bert in sales quickly and accurately answered my questions, and the kit arrived within the time frame (~1 week) I was told it would.

This was the smoothest kit purchase for my tractor that I've ever made; unlike the Power Beyond and 4th & 5th SCV kits I purchased from the Deere dealer near our new Colorado property. It took them over 6-weeks to get it done right.

Schweissguth in Missouri did a far better job than the two Colorado Deere dealers I've done business with.

The wife is out of town next week, which frees up a garage bay, so I'll be installing hydraulic kits. Wish me luck.

Good for you , I am glad you got it with a good price. Yes and definitely wish you good luck. I spent a few hours last weekend putting on my front 3PT Hitch, and then promptly took the frame right off so I can work on something else
