who makes rural king's 15w40 oil? it's way cheaper than even walmart...

Yeah, ours too. They built a new RK right next to TSC here. Parking lot jammed at RK, maybe two cars in TSC's... Back in the 60's TSC was an awesome store. My uncle bought many a sleeve set off the shelf in the old Columbus, OH store for his many Cockshutt/CO-OP tractors he bought at a large consignment auction yard @ London, OH. Those were the days...

I still have 1/2 a 5 lb. box of assorted cotter pins from the REAL TSC from the 60's they had on sale, and Dad picked one up. The have nothing in comparison to that today...

We have several Rural King stores around my neck of the woods, often referred to as 'Redneck Walmart' and it is a good store. My wife hates it when I say I have to go there, by far they are the cheapest place for me to find bolts/screws etc as they sell them by the pound.

Ours did the same. setup shop rigth across the street from a TSC. the building they used was some big mega kmart and has HUGE floor space. you could put 2 of the tsc stores inside the rural king one. or the tsc stroe plus it's parking lot and it's implement storage area, and STILL have room. plus rural king has a huge-er parking lot, AND an outside garden and implement ara.

tons o' floor space that had been setting vacant for years put to good use.

ours has a large food section. no cold goods. but plenty of boxed and canned stuff. even a soda isle. snacks, bread, cookies, soups, rice / beans.. dog food.. canned metas like tuna, spam, canned chicken.. potted meats and spreads.. chips.. etc.

if it had a cold section it would be better than half the non walmart grocery stores around here.

big clothing section including shoes and boots. pants, shirts, jackets. riding leathers for motorcycles. hats.. sporting goods. guns to bows, to crossbows, to fishing tackle... etc.

I swear if they sold milk and cheese and some lunchmeats.. them and walmart would be the only ones left standing in 6 months...

A great place to spend a rainy day here. I was amazed at the chain saw section. Had to be 30-40 various Stihl saws on display, plus trimmers, etc. on down the aisle. And yes, kudo's to the bolt selection. And I'm sure as in other stores, across the aisle is just a large of a selection of metric bolts.

Great price on the R-134a too @ $4.99 per can. A buddy of mine bought a case of 12 last week for like $54.99 there.

if they would build a harbor freight, rural king and walmart in the same plaza with interconnecting isles and a master checkout... I might not ever shop anywhere else..

You should see a Menards store. Basically a home depot/Lowes with a small grocery area that even includes some meat and dairy items in refrigerated and frozen coolers.

And Menards is a great place to buy Seafoam, if you use it. Same price as Rural King ($6.99), but 2 bucks or more cheaper than most auto parts stores... I've seen it as high as $11.99 in one large chain auto parts store.

They built a new Rural King a year ago about thirty minutes from here and I haven't gone there yet. Guess I need to go check them out. Have been in Menards a few times. Menards is a little different than other stores. Hard to explain until you have been in to Menards. I like Menards.
