Hydros do whine. I can here my neighbors JD hydro whine and he is 300 yards away. On my loader I run just enough RPMS to work the loader smoothly. About 1800 RPM on my tractor.

Some HST's whine like a banshee and others are quite. New machine may quiet down some with a few hours on the clock but No real definite answer. Engine RPM probably minimum of around 1500. I would suspect most people runs theirs between 1800 - 2500 RPM.

I think the brands whine differently. The neighbors JD has a high pitched whine. My Kubota has a whine just as loud but it is a lower pitch.

well i'm going to ask that question have you checked the fluid level. i know it's new and it just came from dealler but that don't mean it's got the proper amount of fluid in it.

so you think about 1800 is in the ballpark? I guess im just going to have to play with it to find the right mix of throttle and ranges I also read on this site that colder weather makes it whine louder its about 30 today and yesterday when it was delivered it was 28 along with 65mph on the highway it was probably pretty stiff oil was also wondering if you check the hydro oil with it running like you would on a car?

Mine does whine louder when it's cold outside until the fluid gets warmed up. On the FEL RPM's my FEL will run sluggish if the RPM's are too slow. If the RPM's are to high the FEL runs kind of jerky. 1800 works best for me.
