Which Tractor Revised Edition

Looks good. Is that Kubota 4x4? I also have 20 acres and a 27 hp Yanmar. It gets the job done. IMO, 4x4 is a must.

That John Deere is at a pretty good price. Why has it been on CL so long? Many of your other listings are already gone.

That probably wouldn't last long on CL in Ohio.

What do you guys think of this one:
Kubota L2250
Kubota loader tractor L2250

Looks pretty good to me. For under 10k to find a 4wd loader tractor that says Kubota on it is pretty rare around here. As long as it continues to function (doesn't suffer any major mechanical failures), and assuming you don't put 1500 hours/year on it, that'll be worth at least $8000 for the foreseeable future.

I started tractoring with an 80's Kubota B8200 about 14 years ago. I sold it after 10 years for about what I had in it. It was a trouble free, hassle free machine. I wanted a bigger tractor, a SSQA loader, and HST vs. gear. I assume it is still working for the guys who bought it. The L2250 was a contemporary machine- '85 - '90. If you contact Kubota with the S/N, they can tell you when it was built.
For the money, it might be a fine tractor. Check for deteriorated hydraulic hoses, cracked rubber on the tires, and if the oils and coolant look like they've been changed and clean, you should be good. New hoses aren't too bad, but tires aren't cheap. Minor tire issues can usually be fixed with tubes if the rubber itself isn't cracked and chunking. It might need a battery, but other than that, they last and last. Make sure the PTO and loader work as intended, and driving/shifting seems okay. It should pull a 60" rear brush cutter, and heck, clean it up, use it for a couple years, and sell it for what you paid when you get the tractor bug more seriously.

Varmint just gave good outline on what to look for, as far as whether this has live pto option contact the owner. Ask owner how pto is engaged.

Or better yet if close by, make arrangements and go look at it and run it through some paces.
