which tractor for forklift?

I want to mount a forklift mast on one of my jd tractors. The mast has one hydraulic line. I have a jd870 with power beyond and a jd1070 with joystick and plumbing for a fel. The mast will be 3pt. Which tractor would be the easiest to plumb and how? Any ideas appreciated.

I vote the 1070. The 870 with PB would need a valve plumbed to operate the mast since the PB lines flow oil whenever the tractor is running. The 1070 already has the valve, you would just need to run a hose from the front QD to the mast cylinder.

Since the cylinder is SA (single acting) and has only one hose, the tractor will go into "relief" while the mast is lowering, but that will not be a problem.

Hydraulics aside, you want to mount it on the 1070 for capacity and stability.

Went with the 1070 because i'm cheap. Took awile to find the right port but works great. The 870 would have been easier to manuever in tight spots but not worth the added cost. Thanks for the replies
