I've been thinking about getting a tooth bar for my HD72" bucket and would like recommendations on which tooth bar to get. Any thoughts on usefulness of a tooth bar and company to buy from?

Really not sure which is the best toothbar to purchase.. Do a search and you'll get a wealth of information on this very topic..
I purchased mine from Carver Equipment in N.C...
Cost $289 delivered to my door, took about 1 week..

I have a tooth bar (WR Long ) from Carver. I used a hole saw to drill the two holes in the bucket during initial install. It took less than an hour to install.

No complaints, easy to remove and re-install (5 minutes). Makes it a lot easier to dig in packed soil.

I bought a WOODS toothbar for my 4110. Easy on/off with two bolts. Cost was right around $300 /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

While we're on the subject, does anyone have the Lifetime Toothbar from SSB Tractor? It looks good to me, but is a bit pricey. I tried to e-mail them today, but their website is down (or my server is acting up).

STAN; don't know what they mean by LIFTIME toothbar, all i know is my bar will never be worn out by the average guy around his property, and the teeth are repaceable if needed. mho don't spend more for a feature u will probably never need to worry about. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Hi, I was wondering how long it took you to get your Woods Toothbar? did you get the standard or heavy duty? I ordered the heavy duty about 2 weeks ago and still nothing, I paid 325.00 for a 64 inch

Did the dealer you buy the bar from tell you how it would be shipped and give you a tracking number? If you are concerned you could make a call on Monday and track it down.

Tip for slip on tooth bar install. Pick up some washers for the side of the bucket bolts to take up any gaps between the bar and the bucket.

jack9166,
I ordered my WOODS thru my JD dealer. It is a 61" and I payed $300 for it. Dealer told me it would take about two weeks and it showed up in ten days. Not sure of exact model but from looking at it I will never be able to do anything to hurt it! As I guess most models are the teeth are replaceable.

Stan, those toothbars are made by ATI.

abcgroff sells them too. Look under ATI /tractor loader attachments/ other attachments.

The bar for a 53" bucket has 7 teeth. 8 teeth on next larger size. I've been diggin' rocks and tearing out trees with one for two years now. Absolutley no wear at all.

Strictly a marketing ploy...

A standard toothbar from any of the fella's listed will probably outlast you, the grandkids, and their kids... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I ordered mine through my Woods dealer the standard duty was 245.00 for 64 inch and I bought the heavey duty for 325.00 I bought the HD because it had 8 teeth instead of 7 . The toothbar is supposed to be shipped direct to me and then the dealer will bill me. I always deal with these guys because they always take care of you even after the sale. I hope I get the bar next week!!

John- Of course, any toothbar will outlast us all. I think the point SSB is trying to make is: Don't worry that the teeth are not replaceable- you will never have to replace them.

Here's a pic of a ATI Tooth bar I purchased from Bob Wolff @ woodbury tractor. Very well built I will post some pics later this week week of a rock I buried the size of a baby grand. I pushed it with the bucket to slide it in the hole. This bucket is a ATI quick detach on a 7800 with a 402 loader.
