Which Forums are \"Must Reads\" for you?

I don't make it over here everyday anymore, and even if I do, there's no way to read every post. Most of the time, I only open certain forums and scan for interesting thread titles.

I know a lot of members read posts by clicking on the recent posts links (1 hour, 2 hours, etc), but for those of you who enter each forum one by one, which forums do you make of habit of always looking at?

I go to Owning/Operating, Projects, the New Holland forums, Vintage Tractors, Rural Living, and Related Topics. If I have time, I'll check a couple other ones, such as Attachments and Lawn & Garden.

Anyone else?

Re: Which Forums are \"Must Reads\" for you?

Haven't been doing much tractor work lately, but I have to read Power Trac. Even before owning one, I found that quite interesting. Next, lawn and garden, sometimes Cub Cadet. However, I usually skim the 12 hour instead, unless really short on time.

Andy, The rural living, related topics and lawn and garden are the most interesting and first hit parts of the forums for me .
I also like to read forum forums. But, then that may not be of interest,or allowed here . John

Re: Which Forums are \"Must Reads\" for you?

I always use the 24-hour mode. Even if I have been gone for a few days, I still use it. The reason is because by using the 24-hour mode I get all of the headings. I can skim through and if a topic is something I think that might be of interest, then I may or may not look at which form and then make the decision.

My favorite has been 'build it yourself' ever since I joined.

Also do flip around, but never miss 'build it---"

All in all a very intersting web site and my most visited.

Re: Which Forums are \"Must Reads\" for you?

I visit Kioti - Owning/Operating once a week now and I search the forum when I have a related issue! If people would search for related threads instead of just posting on a whim there would be much less clutter (material already discussed) to scan through. Because of this, "New Post" use to be a must but it just takes too much time now. How many times have you read "I know this has been discussed before somewhere". Encouraging new members to search before posting would make the forum SO much more efficient. I think the number of members warrants this education or "stressing". Then there is the post deletion issue in your "Must Reads". I'm not gonna spend time on something that is subject to mass deletion or because it got caught up in a questionable thread even if it had substance with no objectionable material. Moderators have the ability to restructure the thread and material contributed that has clout. Your must read thread "post" and time spent may be gone with no explanation. My "Must Read" threads is down to one because of it. I hope the administration is open to the critque and I still think TBN is a GREAT resource!

Re: Which Forums are \"Must Reads\" for you?

Good topic! Lots of folks don't have the time to check in every day.

I go to the bottom forums first: News Feedback(see if I can help anybody), Rural Living, Related Topics, and Photos(love those member pics).

Then it's off to the Power Trac Forum! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If I have time, I then go up to the top forums for Buying/Pricing/Comparisons and see what people are thinking of buying and why, Owner/Operating and Projects.

After those, I'll hit the Last 48 hours button and see if any headlines look interesting in any of the other forums.

Man, there is just too much good stuff to read some days! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Re: Which Forums are \"Must Reads\" for you?

I go to the NH forums first, then the Yanmar area, next to the "Other Forums", rural living, news/feedback you know. Then maybe I'll take the time to read the build it yourself and projects area. Then off to another forum, which I can't mention here.

Re: Which Forums are \"Must Reads\" for you?

Rural, Related, Owning, Safety, Buying (getting less due to repeats), Kubota's and John Deeres forums, followed by the AG and ATV under Related Equipment.

And I try to read all the posts.

Re: Which Forums are \"Must Reads\" for you?

Projects is my favorite by far. Next is Rural Living and then a few of the others that might have a good thread going on or something new.

The tractor specific forums are pretty boring to me since I have one and have no interest in the other brands. It's much more interesting to me what you do whiith it over why it's so great.

Re: Which Forums are \"Must Reads\" for you?

My first stop is PowerTrac. Then its on to related topics, lawn and garden, projects, then scan all other headings for topics and if it sounds interesting then click and open. The problem is that every forum has topics I find very interesting which leads to hours of reading fun (and no work getting done) /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
