I gotta b2400 with 550 hours and I am thinking of getting a backhoe from some work at home and a little side buisness. Is a 6 footer big enough or is 7 footer to big for my b2400. I'm not gonna be digging foundations for people but water lines and other smallish jobs to start.I'm gonna go with a kubota subframe mount. Any advice?

Wood's BH-X. Go as big as you can, and get the PTO pump set-up and Thumb. Your only going to Buy It Once!

I have the BH80-X with Thumb on my L3400 with 16" bucket.

I have a 7' on my B2410. Keep in mind a few things, the 2410, and presumably 2400, manual recommends a 6.5' backhoe. Also, the Kubota subrame is not a mount, but rather a reinforcing kit for the frame. The hoe mounts to the 3 point hitch. It is absolutely critical that you get the heavy duty top-link bracket for the tractor if you go this route. I have had this set up on mine for 4 years, no issues. If you go with the Woods BH 70X, I believe you can get a sub frame mount.

I bought a BH 75 with my L3400 and it works great but it's reach is such (short) that I am constantly moving a few feet when digging a trabnch - get the longest one you can handle, you won't regret it.
