i, have gotten two very good prices on l-3010's HST
the first is a new release kubota just set up with r-4,s /482 fel/ fold- rops. first service included for $18500.

second choice is last years model new l-3010 Hst with r-4's / 481 fel / fold rops, block heater, calc.chloride. for $17950.

is the 482 loader and brand"new" not been sitting around for 8 months worth the extra $700 plus the cost of calc.

i also understand the new 3-points have an easy quick attach.

help!!!

That's a tough call.

The first service on that tractor is worth about $250 or so depending on your part of the country. I believe there's not much difference in the two loaders. Also, if the last year's model is on the lot w/o hours, it's essentially new too. I don't know what the block heater is worth where you are, but out here, it would be baggage. The CaCl is worth something, but I couldn't tell you what.

I also don't know much about the new 3PH.

Guess I'm not a lot of help.... /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

Flipado,

The only real difference is in the 481/482 and the 3ph attach feature. I'd look real close at that 3ph to see if it is worth it to you. I have an L3010DT with 482. I would rather have the 481. Only real difference is in the controls. On the 481, the control SCV/joystick goes with the loader when detached, 482, the SCV stays with the tractor. There are some minor other differences, but essentially that is it. To me, I'd rather be rid of the lever if I don't have the loader. It is new and 'improved' so you can use the controls to power other things even if the loader is removed. To some this might be handy, to me, it's annoying to have this joystick sticking up in the way, if I don't have the loader on. Which would you like?

They are both essentially new, so that is pretty much a wash.

When I purchased my 3010, I paid $500 more at another dealer to get a crate fresh tractor instead of one that had sit outside all winter and was "shop worn". A true 50 hour service if done by the owner's manual is more like $400-500 as I paid close to $250 for all of the filters and 12 gallons of Super UDT fluid. The one HST filter is $65.00. Just my thoughts.

Buy the year old model. Tractors are judged more on clock hours than model year for resale value.

Have you thought about used? Carver Equipment usually has tractors with 100 or so hours that are a couple grand cheaper. After a year, my tractor has about 130 hours and I feel it is just getting broken in now. That extra $$ in pocket can be a couple of real nice implements.....

Were I to do it all over again, I would probably buy a used tractor over a new one. If that makes any difference to you.

have fun!

i do agree that hours is the critical and it goes by year purchased not year made, ......but. a tractor that has seen 8 months of sun and uv rays on plastic and rubber. as well as the valve springs being collapsed and rings stuck in one spot can have a serious effect on longevity of the tractor. this is a major investment that i plan on having for a lifetime.
