As some of you may have been reading my latest post regarding my hydraulic problem, to protect my new pump coming via mail someone suggested to add a hydraulic gauge to view from time to time and was thinking could I simply add the gauge on the spool in or our by adding a T coupling see picture I would add it with a long hugh pressure house so I could place it where i could see it Spool Valve.jpg

That is a good place to install the tee, hose and gauge.

It should indicate what that port is for.

It is probably another tank port .

What is the model number and brand name on that valve?

Hello JJ thanks for the reply, the valve is NUI-ENG ZD,-F15L its off my Jinma 254 im searching on line on my end also to try and find the specification to this spool valve thanks

What does the OUT port feed?

Does it go to the tank, or to another valve?.

Hello JJ, its the only spool valve i have on the tractor controls my loader

Where does your 3pt get it's fluid from?

Is your FEL valve the first valve in the hyd flow path does the 3pt get the fluid first?

Hello JJ thanks for keeping the help coming... I have a separate lever to control the 3pt how this all works Tractor world is new this is my first one it is all controlled by one hydraulic pump the spool valve on the picture does only the loader in the front up-down tilt up and down, the in of the spool valve come from the pump its self and the out connect to some kind of header that close to the transmission that seems to then be distributed to other hydraulic functions throughout the tractor like the cell phone and tv :) kidding about the cell phone and tv :)

What I am getting at is that the FEL valve is now the first valve in the flow path and FEL valve is now the master relief, and all valves downstream should be using a PB line and your tank line should be going to tank.

I only see 6 lines on your valve is the reason I asked.

I could not find a parts breakdown of your valve anywhere.

That header block is called a hyd blk and is a distribution center, routing the flow to were it needs to go.

Do you see a port on your valve with the letters PB or PBY?

Hello JJ, on the valve top right is P and the top left is T, what is I should have a PB on line? What is PB? Thank you

PB is Power Beyond, meaning that port is capable of supplying high pressure downstream using a PB adapter.

The tank port is supposed to go to tank, as it is low pressure up to about 500 psi max.

In most loader valves, you add a PB adapter and feed that to a hyd block and then it if routed downstream for use by a remote valve or the 3pt.

On the left side of that valve, where the OUT hose is, is there another port?

If not, the tank port may be facing you and the PB port is being used for a tank port.

Back pressure could damage the tank port, and cause loader valve problems.

It should work here, I don't see a need for a long hose if you can see the valve from the seat.

Just put the hyd gauge high or low, your preference.

Jinmas aren't like other tractors, they come from the factory plumbed "wrong." They don't use the power beyond port on the FEL valve, the output of the valve feeds the power steering and then the 3PH. So the output feels the full pressure if a downstream device is being used. In theory this should be a problem as the pressure massively exceeds the back pressure rating of the valve but in use they seem to stand it.

In order to get a true system reading you have to have the gauge upstream of the first device -- somewhere between the pump and the input to the FEL valve. If the hose you marked is the input hose then a tee there will work.

Mount it somewhere so you don't get glass and hot oil in your face when the tube inside the gauge fails.
 Finally a little depth. There should be a very restrictive flow limiter at the gauge. Several drops per second is about right.

All of the hydraulic pressure gauges that I have used have the flow limiter built in at the base.

This is the one that I set up for my machines.
