John,I don't believe you understood my original Posting. It did not ask "where is the better tractor",it asked "WHERE IS THE BARGAIN".Others including you, have turned this into a pissing match.I suppose i would have a complex too, if i had bought a Yugo when all my buddies were driving Cadillacs. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gifBesides,I own a BX22,this will outdig anything without a backhoe. But that's a whole different debate now isn't it.let's also not forget that the price i quoted on that 30hp Nortrac should be the same price for everyone coast to coast. You can purchase that 790 here in Richmond at James River Equipment for 14,500 all year long.

Heith,
I really try to keep from abusing them too bad /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif And I keep the maintenance up. But I buy them to keep and use.

Well, when you come into the Chinese tractor forum and kick the sleeping dog, don't be surprised when he bites back! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Maybe when you look at purchasing a vehicle, you compare a Mercedes C240 sedan to a Ford Explorer, but thats not how many people compare what they want to buy. It appears that you need a large yard machine (bx22/jd790), and not something that is probably in the utility tractor catagory (JM304). The JM304 doesn't even have a turf tire option, it would compress your yard too much, even if it had. I fail to see any logic in it, but OK, its how YOU do it.

IMHO, comparing to a JM224 or 254 is more appropriate. A 254 can be had for as little as 6K assembled, from Homier. Many of us chinese tractor owners, purchase from a crate and assemble ourselves. Having a tractor for half the cost of the JD790, and still having the capability to do more work, is a real plus. It does require mechanical knowledge and it is certainly NOT for everyone. Risk and Dealer support, etc, and what you are willing to spend, is a personal choice, not group think.

just to add a little info., for what it's worth, cause i don't know a jd 790 from a jd 5,090. never really cared, cause i always felt they were most over-rated tractor made. but -- next week i have a john deere 855 4wd coming in on trade on a jinma 284! the jd won't handle the roto tiller, (5' REAR TINE) and after a demo on the jinma , hooked up to tiller, it pulled the tiller with ease. i was impressed with 855 A LITTLE BIT, but nothing to get excited about. so i know of at least one person that proved to himself that the name and country of origin isn't what it's always all about. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
