do you do it based on hours of operation or do you get an analysis for particulate and base additives?

I go by hours, it takes me 5 years to get to 400 hours. If I were a heavy user I'd go with used oil analysis, but after 5 years, the fluid needs to get changed.

Well the short awnser is it depends. Hydrostatic drive? Just a cheap log splitter with a $100 pump? Big difference.
