I just ordered an L 3130 with remotes. In reading the manual I found that there were two types of remote valves, one with a float position. I am wondering when you would use or have need of the float position for something controlled by a remote valve? I have tim to revise my order if desired.

I'm mostly guessing here, but the only time I'd think you would want it floating is if you had an implement that rode on gage wheels or skids, and needed to maintain contact with the ground, AND your area of operation had a lot of ups and downs, where the cylinder would be moving in and out a lot.

For example, without float, you would lower the implement, and if it were on a high spot, when you went over a low spot, the implement would be too high.

I'm thinking maybe a mower that rode on it's gage wheels........

Hope this helps.

You need floot, when you back-drag with your loader.

Thanks for the comments but in both cases the situation is handled by either the 3pt float setting or the FEL float settings that are already available. I am trying to figure what I would or might use float for in an extra (remote) valve.
