Kent is the Tachometer pretty accurate? Would like to put one on my 422.

No real way to tell how accurate it is, since there are no true electronic signals on a diesel such as spark in a spark plug wire. Some alternators have a signal that can be converted to RPM, often with an external adjustment "box," and calibration is always required.

That said, I've used a Tiny Tach on a garden tractor before and was satisfied with it... the readout can be "jittery" for a couple seconds after you change the throttle, but then it stabilizes. My biggest complaint is that they use a sealed-in battery to maintain the hours accumulated, so they only last 5-7 years or so.

The newer ones have memory that does not require a battery to maintain so they run off of your tractor's electrical system. Yes, my older internal battery one only lasted 3 or 4 years.
