Scotty, I think you're on to the right track. Just remember that your opener doesn't usually do all the lifting, the springs do. If you disconnect the top sections away from the bottom two and activate the opener you might want to help it some by manually lifting as well.

Good Mornin Jay,
Well, we got er done ! ;)

I had the get one tractor in the story, so we used the 49 Super A this mornin to keep the bottom panel held down while I replaced the bad panel.

I just backed the tractor up next to the door and fit a scrap piece of 2x8 between the drawbar and the handle on the bottom of the door ! :) Then I disconnected the bad section and lifted the two upper sections just up far enough to get the bad panel out of the opening.

Now I have to stain the whole front of the garage to match the new panel ! :( And the whole front of the house also !

The good news is that this is the year that the front gets done anyway ! :)

Thanks for the headsup on the torsion spring ! ;)

Scotty, great job. That section is a perfect fit. I see what you're talking about with the fading color difference. I like your way of keeping the bottom sections down! Nice tractor by the way!:D
