I have an older Kubota B2100. The rear wheels are bolted onto the axle as well as a clevis pin with a cotter pin. The problem is the clevis pin shears off and the wheel then moves across the axle. This occurs regularly and is next to impossible to detect while operating the tractor. Twice now, one wheel moved to the center and the tractor began to roll on a tight turn going downhill. The dealer only suggest replacing the pins "regularly" ... Any other suggestions??

This is a common problem with the smaller b series. I check every one that comes through shop. The basic problem is that the wedges in the wheel hub have become worn and the bolt that secures them has not been torqued enough to hold wheel to hex shaft. I use a Snap on impact that will torque 400 ft lbs. and tighten them tight, tight, tight. The small pin is just a locating pin and does not really hold them in place. If you do this and they still won't stay tight, change to the new hub, Pt # 6c040-17413, and tighten them TIGHT. They cost about $100. eam so try to make old ones work. Hope this helps.

As was said, the pin is only a safety device, the hub shoulb be held on by the bolt that should be tightened down.

They get loose and fall off like you describe. I think it was 'Egon' who used hacksaw blades to shim the hubs so the were tight on the axle. You might try that, to save yourself the $100 for a new one.
