If your tires are ballasted with water or similar they are going to be scary heavy, so drain if possible.

Set both brakes hard and loosen the lug bolts a little before raising the tractor. Block the front wheels so torquing the lug bolts can't propel the tractor off your jackstands.

If you have one, use a torque wrench to get the adapter-to-hub bolts to the right torque. I would also use blue (non-permanent) Loctite on those. And torque the lug bolts to spec.

That's it, it's a simple project.

As California said, the tires can be heavy and hard to handle. I took a several inch long bolt that threaded into the lug nut hole and cut the head off to use it as a guide to hold the wheel and line it up for the other lug nuts. I did have a problem with the spacers I received. The the lip the wheel sits on was too big and would not fit through the center hole in the wheel. I had to file off a bit over 1/32 of the lip, symmetrically all the way around, for the wheel to slip on. Otherwise, the added width, with the wheels reversed allows me to work some slopes more comfortably (without puckering) than I could previously.

Be sure you have a 3/8" extension (1/2" will not fit) and a 3/8" drive 24mm shallow socket (15/16" 6 sided will also work in a pinch but needs to be shallow ).

There are some other tips in the link below.

We have seen that just a couple of times and I have not really nailed down the reason. It has only happened on the '02 or '20 series that I'm aware of and only on a few of them. None of the '20/'02 parts tractors we have here required any modification.

Be sure to re-torque after a day or so.

What he say. Loctite the bolts or you will be re-torquing them every time you turn around. But I wouldn't drain them. More of a chance to break the bead loose.

These are on my short list of things to get. I was bush hogging on a small slope at the front of my farm property and i was on the top of the hill and it was king of scary when i got into a certain spot. No wheels left the ground but i think the tractor was sitting on the front axle where it pivoted over. It was an uneasy feeling for sure. Also i cant mow much off the road shoulder as is now due to it rolling off down the hill.

One day Aaron a set will be at my house!!

I keep saying no to buying these because the tractor will be wider and not as able to get into tight places when i bush hog under some pines i have in an over grown field i try to keep the under story clear. In reality though the little bit of width increase in the real world wont make much of a difference vs the benefits of being wider.

I have a set of those spacers from Hoye. They were not difficult to install, and as others said, use Loctite on the spacer bolts. My tires were fluid filled, so after I removed my tire and installed the spacer I lowered the one side of the tractor down just even with the bolt holes for my wheel, that way I was able to spin the wheel if need to re-align the holes again. Also follow what Aaron suggested about the 3/8 extension and shallow socket otherwise you won't get them on there. Good luck and send us pictures when you are finished.

Here is a pic of mine after install 2210d spacer.JPG
