My service manual specifies 65 - 80 lbs-ft torque for the wheel bolts (JD 4700) but the operator's manual specifies 114 lbs-ft. Does anyone know which is correct? I found the left bolts loose yesterday - both front and rear. The right bolts were still tight.

The owners manual for my 4300 also says 114 ft-lbs. Seems like a reasonable torque for bolts that size. When I first received my 4300 I backed all the wheel lugs out one at a time, applied a little red loctite, and re-torqued to spec. Have not had any sign of loose lugs since. Of course I don't know if the lugs would have loosened up without the loctite. Good luck.
