What\'s a reasonable weight to lift?

I have built a crane attachment that connects to the 3pt hitch. It lifts to about 3m, via hydraulics, and has a cable, hand-cranked, winch mounted on it.

I understand the force x distance laws and all that, I also understand about front end weights for counterbalance.

What I would like to know is: What sort of output can I expect from a standard Iseki hydraulic pump? From this I can extract the pushing force of the piston and use this to work out how much my rig can lift.

Cheers, guys! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Lift capacity at the 3 point on that model is 800 lbs.

A rough estimate is about 2000psi on the pressure relief setting. Remember, pumps make volume, restrictions (like a valve working a cylinder) make pressure, relief valves regulate max pressure.

Buck, is that close on the relief pressure? I've not put a gauge on one of these.

That or even less if it is a little worn
