I have a 16' Tandem axle trailer that I haul my Farmall, Kubota, and various other stuff on. It has a wood deck on it. It's two years old, and was white when I got it. Most of that is worn off the wood. I do not know if it was paint, stain, or???

What would you use to treat and seal the wood so the deck hold ups to weather and time?

I have access to a pressure washer, and can get it nice and clean before doing anything to it.

It's only 2 years old; I hope the deck last a good long time.

Thompson's Wood Protector (not Thompsons Water Seal) will work good, as others with similar formulations for water resistance, penetration, and a fungicide.

I would use one of the wood preservatives on the top. On the bottom I'd keep it well coated with used motor oil.

Got same issue, but 20' long. Check out Consumer Reports re. the best coating for wood. If you select paint, it'll look rather ratty fairly soon, as trauma from the tractor tires, implements or whatever peels back the paint. So, use a stain, with the opaque ones lasting longer than the clear or semi-transparent ones. It's easy. Pressure wash things, wait a few days for things to very thoroughly dry, and then put on the stain. Done --- for 3-5 years, then repeat process.
