I use Mean Green spray adhesive to glue my seat back to the pan. You spray both sides, wait till it is tacky then stick both together for instant bond.
I get it from my local HVAC supply house. I think they must use it to attach the foam boards inside AC ducts. I have also used it to secure weather stripping.

That sounds cool but looking g at their site or some supply house site it's only availible in 12lb, 40lb, and 375lb cylinders. All of which would be quite a bit larger than I would want to buy for this project or to even keep on hand for others.

I did find the masterseal on I think walmart.com for like $8. I have a few other things I am gonna order so I am throwing a tube of that in with the order to try.

My adhesive of choice is Silicone II. But I must say that I was impressed with Lepage PL construction adhesive. I dropped a blob on concrete and couldn't kick it off without a fight. However, unlike silicone with give, when it breaks free, it's free.

It comes in a spray can (about 16 oz.) for $12?? (forget the price but a little pricey) You may have been looking at the wrong item.

I think it was the same stuff. But I think they just sell to businesses doing installs. It was mean greend contact adhesive. Applied just like you say.

It sounds handy. I'd buy a can at $12 ish dollars if I could find it.

That is the same company (Mean Green by Quest Vapco). Mine comes in an 18 oz. spray can. You might try your local HVAC supply company. I know that if I can get it in Hot Springs, Arkansas, it should be available just about anywhere. I dont know why their website only list huge containers.
The can gives address of distributor as:
QuestVapco Corporation
P.O. Box 624
Brenham, Tx. 77834
