What tools on your tractor?

workinallthetime - Where does one find a metric crescent wrench? :D

Right next to the left handed hammers in the odd tool dept!

actually - I have one in my truck - Crescent brand and it's got inch measurements printed on one side and metric on the other for quick ID of the nut before you go get a 6 point socket to do the job right. :D

3lb sldge
various pins
12" adjustable wrench
fence pliers (hammer, wire cutter, you know the ones)
huge bolts (that can double as pins)
perhaps a zip tie or 2
D-ring (2 diffrent sizes)
16" (or whatever size fits in the box) pry bar (automotive type)

its kinda a catch all for various nuts/bolts etc

No screwdrivers or needle nose pliers because i always have my leatherman on me.

btw the list is in order of what is most commonly used. (one of the top three are likely used just about every time i get on the tractor)

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to catch on to that.
Funny story:
We got a new Mac tool guy at the shop, I told him i needed a new metric cressant wrench and to just get me one and id pay him for it, about an hour later he comes in with 3 and tells me all he has are standards but they look like they should work on metric heads to.
After the entire shop was rolling on the floor laughin so hard he felt real smart.

All the basic stuff already mentioned in anddition to big can of WD-40 and Fiskars Ax which hangs from the ROPS with a big zip tie.

A fire extinquisher is a good idea.

I used to work summers on a telephone line crew. During a heat wave and draught we drove the pole truck into some deep grass. In about ten minutes a fire popped up under the truck getting bigger real fast. I snuffed it real quick with a fire extinguisher. The truck had fire extinguishers all over it.

When we were building a deck a neighbor hovered over us so we told him we were running short on Metric Deck Screws. He ran to his truck to go to Lowes for us. I wish I was a fly on the wall when he asked the guy there for them.

When i use my L118 all I bring is my camera, a wrench and my leatherman. I would get a fire extinguisher but there isnt really a place to put it. :(

MT - you're right.
it's a Channellock 8" adjustable wrench, NOT a Crescent wrench.
808W - 8" Wide Capacity Chrome Adjustable Wrench @ Channellock
"Measurement scales (in. on front mm on reverse) are handy for sizing nuts, pipe and tube diameters. "

Sorry the thumbnail is so small, but you can (just barely) see the scale - and I'm getting too much glare from the chrome to take a good pic here.

Erik_in_Hoyt,
Looks like a crescent wrench to me and the specs were written up as half metric and half American so you're good with me. You ever come to FT Leonard Wood look me up and we'll fire some lead downrange with my weapons.

Johndeere3720,
How was your first week of school partner ? Sure hope your taking Ag and FFA case you are full of tractor knowledge which is always a good thing.

Sounds good - I'll keep your offer in mind the next time I head down towards Branson. (with luck, towards the end of the month if I can convince SWMBO to take a few days off work)
If you ever find yourself by Ft Riley or Ft Leavenworth, let me know - I live about halfway between them.

Well! My tractor box is full but you guys have come up with a few things I would like to have with me. Maybe another box? Richard

I carry most of the items listed in my tool box too....but I mounted a fire extinguisher on the ROPS with hose clamps. After mounting via the furnished clamp....I secured it with a bungee cord....and it stays put very well. The bungee cord doubles to hold my loppers - which is always good to have in the woods. ;) The other side of the ROPS has another bungee cord holding my spreader bar for the PAT's.

I need to add a "chain pail" to the loader mast...as I am tired of draping it over the implements.

Working all the time.

Your picture looks like you either have a three point hitch on the car?truck.
Or your like most of permantly in that position due to the twisting around backward to work the hitch lol

the fire extinguisher is one I'd not thought of, but makes sense - I have them everywhere else.

The pic was one my daughter took while backing the wife's deanil down the block long driveway that has a few twists and turns in it.
As for stabbin the ball under the trailer, if thats what your talking about, I have no problem handling that one, no dents in the bumper or tag either.
No camera needed here for trailer hookin up, Its actaull a pretty easy process, that I have done a few thousand times in my life it seams.

If avitars were in realtion to our tractor experiences then your would make you a tractor voyeur?

anyone know of a handy mounting braket for a fire supression device? perfer to have it on the rops
