Gator Grip Socket, gear wrenches
Gator Grip is the socket that has the spring loaded pins in the hex area. Adjusts to the head size. I use it to hold the bolt, not to turn it....(small bolts I can turn with it).

most versitile filter wrench ya will find is made by caterpillar, part number 120411 or 1853630, both numbers are on the package and im not sure which one is the part number, the way its written its hard to tell. but they are a strap type wrench you drive with a ratchet, very handy and only about 12 bucks at your local cat dealer

I'll second the pry bar. No need to get hurt trying to yank something around. A piece of pipe or 2x4 works in a pinch.
