What is this?

Our first NEW tractor. Haven't seen this before. What is its purpose?

To keep the safety chain from a towed attachment like a trailer or cart from rubbing the ground when the chain hook is attached to the tractor hitch frame.

I've seen hydraulic hoses run through them.

There should be a section in your owner's manual that explains the use. It is for the safety chains though.

Not sure I'd run hydraulic lines through it without having hose protection. Chains seem more like it. Whatever it is, it's METRIC! :laughing:
