What is this plug? Under right heel under floor board.

Tranny has a level check plug further forward in front of my right foot.
Hyds have a dipstick
Differential has a level check plug on rear left side of differential house(At least thats what I think it is)

So what is this little gemster?

Thanks

Looks to me like a fluid level check to me.

Hard to tell which way the picture goes but I'd agree on the fluid check plug if I have my head turned correctly.

Well, I was thinking the same thing, but I have a dipstick to check hydraulic oil, another fluid check for transmission, plus another for differential? What else is there? Does the hydraulic have a fluid check plug and a dipstick on a 63 Ford 4000?

take it out a see ... Could be just a way of draining if you overfill . some engineers actually have some common sense .

I don't know anything about this particular tractor, but some gear cases are arranged such that they have separated volumes and require multiple level check points.

A guess.... Could it be a port for pressure testing or a port for returning fluid back to the sump from auxiliary device/valve?? Where's Soundguy?

My 3910 does. Makes the job of refilling quicker. You don't have to keep checking the dip stick while filling. Parts inside displace the oil at different rates depending on the oil level. The dipstick is used to check the level while in service.

looks like it's down there by the bottom of the hyds sump.

On my NAA, I blocked that top cover, then toop pressure off that plug to run to a remote valve.

If I'm looking at that plug right ( and I am looking at it on a 2" screen.. ).. that should be open to pump output after the relief.

you CAN have remote hyds and leave it too... it's just a plug in an oil galley.
