I was in the DK50SE cab the other day and noticed this laying beside the seat on the left side. I looked but could not figure out where it went or what it is. Any thoughts?

Well dang. I thought it fell off inside the cab. Never would have figured out it was a PTO cover. Thanks. Now I can throw it in the parts bin and it will likely never be seen again. Thanks. :ashamed:

The same thing happened to me. It was stuck beside the seat. I could not figure out where it came from, until I stopped by a dealer. One of his new tractors still had it on the rear PTO. I could not tell you where mine is now. Somewhere in the shop, maybe.

I actually use mine. When I mount something to the PTO, I put it in the "toolbox" behind the seat.
Since the OEM "toolbox" is full when the cover is stored in it, I think the box could more acurately be called a PTO Cover Cover.

I doubt it is mission-critical, but I did notice the one time that I did not use it, I had to brush away a bunch of trash before I mounted my bushhog to the PTO. Since then I have been using it and the PTO shaft stays clean for when I want to use it.

350 hours and mine is still on the pto right where MIE put it when it was new. I hope the pto works!!! CJ

I still use mine too. In colder weather, if I don't have the blower on the back, I will turn the PTO on as part of my warm up time to get the hydraulic oil flowing and warming while the tractor is sitting at an idle. I leave the cover on just in case. Not that they'd go anywhere near the tractor, especially when it's running, but 3 small kids around means I do whatever I can to keep things safe.
