What is this old knife?

A friend of mine sent me these photos of an old knife. She said her grandmother gave it to her.

Very unusual pice. Anyone have any ideas?

Looks like a carved Moro Knife from the Philippines. A bring back from WW2?

I suspect you nailed it. No working knife has such a handle. My first inclination was a tobacco knife, until I viewed the handle.
