What is the difference?

I have a Case 580 CK tires are 14.9x24 R4. I recently saw some 13.0x24 14 ply tires for a pretty decent price on Craig's List, although they are recaps. Is this worth pursuing or are these just too small in cross section?

Two inches means your losing 4 inches out back. what do your current tires look like? Are the recaps new or used? How much time do you use the backhoe? Or do you do alot of loader work? The 14 ply sounds good, but if you are on out riggers 50 percent of the time it does not matter.
