Whenever I am looking at used equipment, I like to see it in its working clothes not all spiffed up. Paint can hide a lot.

I tend to agree with that. I suspect both of those VAC's have been repainted, one probably much longer ago?

A vac is a small tractor only about 19 hp It is rated a 2 plow tractor but my uncle who had a vai, similar machine but the industrial version, said a 2 plow was a little much. It can handle a 5' brush hog but a baler would be pretty hard on it.

19hp is pretty suitable for what I want I think. A square baler might be a bit much, but would be great for raking/spraying/cultivating. I have a couple other bigger 40-70hp tractors for anything serious. No plans on plowing with a VAC other than maybe a garden or so just for the fun of it. I guess I'll just try and see how it turns out.

The most memorable thing we did with it is run a big old circular saw w/ a tilt bed. Edit: Actually, that was the SC. But she made a lot of wood. Not a spec of paint on. You could rig the wife up a big old belt drive fan....

I didn't realize there were a couple different variations of the VAC. I've seen 2 different styles, I guess one is earlier model? It looks like the steering box is different from early to late models and the cultivator square behind the front wheels is different.

Is there any real difference between the earlier model and the later model VAC as far as function or parts availability? I see allot more early types than later.
