…which tastes like skunk urine. Don't ask me how I know
lol… that made me chuckle.

Peeve: “Have it your way.” If I have to design my own sandwich or figure out the best pairing of sides, then what the hell am I paying the chef for? Any idiot can cook and assemble a meal.

This is one gripe I hear from Europeans who visit us here, and I have to agree with them. Whether it’s a simple sandwich shop or a gourmet restaurant, I expect the chef or “sandwich artist” to know their craft better than me, just a random idiot walking in off the street.

I worked next to a sandwich shop in my early 20’s, and would grab lunch there a few times per week. After specifying several less than spectacular sandwiches of my own, I just started telling the ladies that worked there, “put whatever you would like on it.” My sandwiches were infinitely better, after that. :ROFLMAO:

Short of food allergies, let the experts exercise their craft. You will be pleasantly surprised, more often than not.

I love filling out forms at the doctors office, especially all the questions:
1) Have you fallen recently?
Yes
(...)
Yes because I have pepper spray for the boogie man.

After turning it in you can hear the office ladies laughing. Patients in the waiting room have a puzzled expression.

My wife is growing concerned why I'm laughing to myself right now...

I can't wait to do this!!!

Not quite sure what you're getting at (or what it has to do with Europeans). I love onions, most sandwich shops tend to skimp on them, but overload you with tomatoes which I don't particularly care for. And places that just assume you want mayonnaise on it. If I wanted a one size fits all sandwich, I'd get a premade one at the supermarket for half the price.

Europeans seem to love to write online articles on how we Americans do pretty much everything "wrong".

Sorry, I guess I got off on a tangent there, and forgot to bring it home. They find it somewhere between unusual and annoying to be asked several follow-up questions after making a menu selection, about which two sides they want, what dressing they want on their salad, if they want bread with that, etc. Over there, a meal is generally planned, the sides are chosen by the chef to pair with the meat, etc.

As to who is right or wrong, I'd say that's an almost equal toss-up. I spend about 90% of my time here and 10% there, and see some things both sides do better or worse.

I'm constantly inconvenienced by convenience food packaging.
The film glued to the food bowl with industrial-strength aggressive that would hold a trailer hitch on to a Cybertruck under any and all challenges.

Snack food bags that won't open nicely at the top seam to allow easy access to the chips, etc., but once cut open, the bag shreds so it can never be sealed again.

I've contacted the purveyors of these abominations, and am buying less of this stuff to avoid the frustration. Also better for my health!

That's on purpose.
If you could easily reseal it you might only eat a regular portion.
However since the bag is garbage you eat the entire contents ready for another complete bag next time.
They sell more and make more profit.
I keep zip-lock bags handy for keeping things like chips and crackers etc fresh. And I reuse the bags as long as they remain clean and viable.

On the sandwich topic, a pet peeve is when I order a sandwich with just one specific condiment on it, like catsup or barbecue sauce, and they put catsup, mustard , pickles, onions, lettuce, and or mayo on it. Several times I can watch he person making it put the wrong condiments on it, and when they give it to me I hand it right back and tell them to check it. They dump it in the trash and tell the employee to make it again correctly this time. I can't stand most of the garbage they put on sandwiches, especially pickles and mayo. I'd rather have them plain.

Large sinks with faucets barely flowing over the back edge.
Love banging my knuckles on the back of the sink trying to get my hands clean

Plastic pipe w/ endcap, hole drilled in end & slip over that short one.
Not pretty but fixed!

I think you are right about the lousy bag being on purpose.
When the bag shreds, it's harder to eat the snack without making a mess. Just because it's difficult to reseal doesn't mean I want or will eat more. Next time I'm shopping, I avoid that product. Simply not worth the hassle, and the feeling of being manipulated.
