Unfortunately checks cashed and cleared. I'm very close to going down there and giving that idiot sales manager a piece of my mind. Maybe some one will chime in with dealing with a angry customers like me as there pet peeve I feel justified to be quite peevy though. 😂
Maybe you’re confusing this remanufactured transmission you’re getting, with a “rebuilt” transmission?
Very different.
Look up the difference online.
I’d let it go, if it were me

I will definitely look into it however originally they were only going to replace the failed line and send us on our way. Should this amount of transmission fluid under the truck not to mention what was lost driving warrant a replacement? My uneducated guess is the clutch packs and any other internal components are smoked. It was slipping in the end btw. It's spread all over the place cuz transmission fluid was dripping off the boxed frame rails, rear axle axle, bumper and the single axle trailer I was towing.

Im confused now. You said they’re giving you a new reman transmission replacement, right?
What replacement are you questioning here now , a whole new truck, or a loaner?

They quoted us both a rebuild and a remanufactured transmission but not a new gm one surprisingly the remanufactured transmission is quite a bit cheaper over 1k I believe than a rebuild including labor. Makes one wonder where did they find this remanufactured transmission? what exactly did they do to call this a remanufactured transmission? At this point both my wife and I are obviously skeptical of how this may play out especially in terms of reliability l and resale later on. Seriously wondering how expensive a brand new transmission from GM will cost us and why we weren't even given that option or price on a brand new gm transmission? We have a loaner car cheap Chevy trax lol. that is not an issue everything else is. GMC is covering a rebuild or a remanufactured transmission under warranty. But like I said weren't even given. The option or price of a new gm transmission. On a new truck with 700 miles on it.

Bottom line I feel we are entitled to a brand new transmission on a brand new truck considering it was the manufacturers fault it failed in the first place.

According to Kelly Blue Book, this is the difference between rebuilt and remanufactured;

  • Rebuilt engines are a cost-effective option that involves replacing worn or damaged parts, but may offer shorter lifespans and only basic warranties.
  • Remanufactured engines have a comprehensive overhaul with new components, providing greater durability and attractive warranty coverage, but at a higher price

It's still going to have the same manufacturer warranty and no matter what they do, still expect it to fail at around 130k.

Also consider that you posted this;

blew a transmission line driving down the freeway didn't notice a spike in transmission temp on display, did notice a bit of smoke coming from the rear of the truck, stubbornly figured it was it's first regen on the 3.0
If you said that to the dealer they have leverage.

For reference; I bought a new, not rebuilt transmission for my '93 Dakota. It lasted just 4 months, until the first cold day we had. The pump was bad, I'd have to drive back and forth between two hills until things heated up enough for it to work.

I have an entirely new pet peeve. My wife ordered groceries online for pickup. I told her to include a can of WD40. When the associate brought our groceries out, he handed her an electronic device to sign and asker her date of birth. We asked why the third degree to which he responded, it's for the WD40. What the heck man...

Some years ago had a GM truck with a rear end that howled from new.
The dealership piddled around but never fixed it right which for me would have been a new replacement.
Went and bought a Ford and never went back to my "home town" GM dealer.
The afternoon I picked up the new Ford I stopped at the local grocer next to the GM dealer. By coincidence the dealership owner was walking by as I was getting out of the truck. He asked me what I was doing getting out of a Ford. I told him his service was so good I had to go somewhere else.
The owner still doesn't talk to me, like he was the one hurt. That was 30 years ago.

Was this at Walmart, by any chance? They are snickety about aerosols in general. Apparently "huffing" is today's glue sniffing.
