You guys are so old-fashioned. Just because your parents didn't have electrically-operated hatches and tailgates doesn't mean YOU shouldn't have them. C'mon, get with the times!

Just don't want them, more stuff to break or fix, see absolutely no use for push button tailgates and some other new tech out there. My techiness stops at roombas with a clean base really like them only app I use on my phone plus I get to replace consumable parts on it every few months. it does what I want it to vacuum the floor nothing more nothing less besides empty itself at its base. You pay a lot of money for things such as a car these days why for the price you pay one can't get it close to how you want it?

All GMC vehicles also have capless fuel fills even the 3.0 Duramax not happy with that either.or no transmission fluid dipsticks anymore
Dunno when they started doing that, but my '19 Colorado has the capless fuel filler. So far no issues. Wife's previous car was a '15 Buick and it had a traditional cap.

Transmission dipsticks have been MIA for quite some time, my old Grand Cherokee didn't have one, I think it was an '06.

No smiley?
Some of these "innovations" are useful, others just one more thing to break.

Never had an issue with either truck (one being my current one). Ford has been using the capless system since at least 2010 on the F150s that I know for sure. Never seen any kind of dirt by the door inside the tube in all the years that I have owned them and I've driven on a lot of dirt/dusty roads. Matter of fact, the truck bed with a cover on it gets all the dirt and dust. I was skeptical at first as well but, I've had more trouble with gas caps than I have had with the capless.
Salesman I talked to said if you don't like capless fuel fills thank Ford I guess gm followed Fords idea.if buyers in the car market wanted that.

My 2011 Jeep GC has a dipstick, our 2 2021/2022 have none.
If you need to top them up, how do you know how much?

You go to ebay and buy a chinesium dip stick and then do your thing. OR take it to your dealer where the mechanic will use his official dip stick to measure the oil according to the temp his computer tells him to make the fill .2 ounces more accurate.

Climb under neath and pull the fill plug on 1/2 ton 10 speed autos it's near the transmissions tail i guess. i will however commend GMC at least giving you the option to display your transmissions temp on the dash. My 2016 Alison transmission has a dipstick. The truck itself has a screw on cap fuel fill. Wouldn't want it any other way. However I think they started sealing transmissions cuz new generations of drivers didn't know the car has to be running with a cold and hot fill line. So confusing 😂 😂 😂 like I said earlier thanks millennials.

Yeah bring it to a mechanic $$$ why should you have to do that on a 50k + new vehicle?

You think a $10 hr oil change tech is going to take the time to check your transmission fluid? Even if taken to a dealership for a pm. They'd rather try selling you a bottle of snake oil injector cleaner or new wipers instead.

Yeah, I believe Ford was the first. Like you, at first I said WTF?!? Now, I don't have to worry about losing the cap, did I get it on tight enough or the cap getting in the way when I fill up. I wouldn't buy a vehicle just because it is capless or not. That isn't on my list of things that would make me not buy a vehicle, as long as it works and in my experience it has.

Now, I completely agree with you and everyone else. There is no need to put computers/tech on some of the things they put it on and I'm not just talking vehicles.

So took my 20 yr old winter beater to pick up the kids after school it's got a abs, tpms, and traction control, lights on cuz my black electrical tape fell off you know what, I'm completely at ease peeve free driving that car, radio functions, heater works, 5 speed shifts, third gear grinds a little while cold though 4 banger motor runs perfect and it's got 200k on it, bungee chords holding the trunk shut and a few rust holes kids say resemble bullet holes has a screw on gas cap and it's rant free relaxation, surprisingly fun to drive cuz when we m driving that car I'm 100% dilligaf And cost me a few k a year ago. If only it could tow 20k plow snow and haul a load of gravel 😂
