What is some of your Pet Peeve's

This morning realized how much I dislike Electric foot rests on couches or lazy boys . I can't stand every time I have to get up I have to retract foot rest by pushing a button waiting impatiently for the motor to retract it, vs older ones which instantly retracted footrest by using your legs or a handle on side. According to the purchaser of this contraption it was all they sell at the furniture store anymore. If there is a next time I will make sure I make myself available to accompany head furniture shopper to provide my opinion and insight weather wanted or not , (problaby the latter) I can understand the usefulness at a later age though or have a physical disability. but definitely not if your middle aged always on the go. It also makes me feel old and could have been posted in the old when thread. Has society gotten to the point where everything has to be motorized or electronic and does everything for you these days?
First time I saw one of these I thought it would be the cat's a-s.
When it went on sale I bought the sofa and set it up in front of the big screen in the entertainment room.
It's still in the room, to the side, almost never used.
If someone had told me a comfy looking sofa would have dust settling on it in my house when I bought it I would have laughed at them.
Only time it gets used is more people show up and there's a lack of other seating.
So! Pretty much almost never.

I hate when people use canned memes to prove a point and don't do the least bit of research.

Example: Like finding a meme that rice makes birds explode and using it to prove that rice shouldn't be thrown at weddings.
Birds eat rice when it's growing in a paddy, so why would it suddenly be bad for them at a wedding?

I've never had one of those, but in a similar vein I dislike the powered rear hatch doors many pseudo-SUVs have these days. My wife's car has one. It's S-L-O-W to open/close, I'll just manually close it, but the mechanism fights me on it. Seems like a solution looking for a problem.

Every teenage boy knows, you need Alka Seltzer, for that!

<-- never did that, but heard the legends in school

Yep can't stand those powered ,/ push button lift gates especially on my wife's car growing up how my dad managed to load a station wagon for a family vacation they wouldn't work or at least couldn't see now hed get it closed successfully. test driving a few vehicles recently was somewhat upsetting to see a large majority of pickup trucks seemed to do away with the mechanical latch on tail gate replacing it with a push button electric release. Why Is that needed even more disgusted it made its way onto lower trim levels apparently as standard equipment.

😲 I had not heard of this! Definitely a move in the wrong direction.

My wife's Durango has that stupid electric hatch, and I loathe the thing. Yes, you can still manually open/close, but the electric actuators make any quick move to throw it open or slam it shut impossible, as they limit travel speed to not much faster than their automatic speed. A totally unnecessary frustration, for anyone without serious physical impairments.

They are on all new GMC sle option packaged trucks one level up from the work truck level doesn't do the auto close tailgate thing yet. Unsure if the so called pro, which is what gmc calls a work truck is equipped with this ridiculous feature. I was test driving an sle pushed the tailgate button in the cab and to my surprise the tailgate went down lol. If I get something like that I see the use of ratchet straps in the future once it fails. All GMC vehicles also have capless fuel fills even the 3.0 Duramax not happy with that either.or no transmission fluid dipsticks anymore they are sealed. On the 10 speed automatic anyway I believe fluid checking is done towards the back of transmission by removing a fill bolt. Thanks millennials lol.

I love the cap-less fuel filler on my Charger and Durango, but pickup beds used as work trucks can take a lot of damage. Seems like a recipe for problems, counting on that flimsy little door to seal the tank and avoid constant check engine light nags.

You guys are so old-fashioned. Just because your parents didn't have electrically-operated hatches and tailgates doesn't mean YOU shouldn't have them. C'mon, get with the times!
