... which seems to be the case at least 2/3 of the time! When you find a truely skilled and professional craftsman or woman, hang onto them for dear life!Here's something I really hate: paying a professional to do something because he should be better at it than I am, and then finding out he knows less than I do and does a worse job.
I used to do everything myself, but our present house is too big and too old for me to manage it all, among other responsibilities. I now choose which jobs get doled out more by the available skills of the good contractors I've been able to find, than by my own skill set. I have a great painter, roofer, and a great gardener, but lack a very good plumber, HVAC tech, or carpenter... so I do those chores myself now. Masonry gets split down the middle, there's always endless masonry maintenance on this huge old stone house and surrounding walls and patios, as my work is as good as the pro we use but some jobs are just too big for me.
